February 7, 2009 Call: Nurturing Your Most Important Relationship (Part 1)

By cocreationcafe

Hot Stuff on the Co=Creation Cafe Menu!

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Co=Creation Cafe is focusing on the most important relationship you will ever experience: Your relationship with yourself! Why is this so important? How you feel about yourself dictates not only how you treat yourself, but teaches others how to treat us. If you want others ot love and respect you, you first need to love and respect YOU. In today’s world, how can you do that effectively? During this first part of a two part series, Nancy and Melissa discus the basics of self-care, the amazing benefits of self-care, and ways to manage self-care in today’s busy world.

The book mentioned in this call is:

How to Talk So Kids Will Listen & Listen So Kids Will Talk
by Adele Faber and Elaine Mazlish
(also authored Siblings Without Rivalry and Liberated Parents/Liberated Children)
    ISBN 0-380-57000-9

This is a very funny, well-written book by two mothers (each have 3 children) who are also communications experts. The first paragraph says it all…

I was a wonderful parent before I had children. I was an expert on why everyone else was having problems with theirs. Then I had three of my own.
